I'm here with Daniel Ford ahead of his fight at Virtus.6 against Jake Duncan on August 22nd. How are you feeling, Daniel, week to go to the fight? Great, thanks, yeah. Fantastic camp. Oh, you haven't seen you fighting quite a while now. How long has it been since the last time you were out there? Two and a half years. Yeah, so it's been a bit of a stretch off, hasn't it? Yeah. Talk to me about that window of time. What's been going on behind the scenes? Different things, travel, work, injuries. Also, the two trips to Thailand worked on me striking as well. What have you experienced that must have been? Fantastic, yeah. What was it that brought you out there? Was it to go out there primarily for a holiday or did you go out there specifically for improving the skill set? One was just for training, one was a bit about. Okay, so two separate trips and one was a bit more casual, one was a bit more business related. Yes. The work that's been going on behind the scenes now with you guys in compound martial arts, what tell me about the training and the environment there, how are things? I haven't been up there in probably a year and a half, two years, so tell me about how things are going there at the moment. It's scary how strong the room is these days, it's like full of killers, so very valuable getting ready for a fight with lots of super strikers coming through, super grapplers. And then Emer on the MMA side, helping her get ready for all her fights on cage warriors, so the room is stacked. When you have somebody there who's maybe made that step up to European level and is fighting on the big shows that's probably a good driving force someone who can maybe show you the path forward and does that inspire you to maybe put the gloves back on and get back in there yeah I mean there was never any chance I was stopping it was just different reasons but yeah would love to be on cage warriors in the next couple years for sure it's it's nice to have that pathway isn't it we're seeing that a lot in Irish mixed martial arts at the moment so what we see now is cards like this one, Verthas. The guys and girls there have that next step up now. The big promotions are coming to Ireland regularly, like the PFLs and the cage warriors.
